What is ‘The Wim Hof Method’?
As humans, we’ve lost touch with our innate, inner powers. Through decades of research, Wim Hof has found ways to stimulate these lost physiological processes so we can realise our full potential.
The process centres around the influence oxygen has on our bodies and the ways in which we are stimulated by exposure to cold. The activities are tailored to the individual’s specific situation. The Wim Hof Method reconnects us with ourselves, those around us and nature itself. It does so through three key elements:
Breathing
We use specialized breathing techniques to unearth dormant benefits within the body, resulting in more energy, reduced stress and an augmented immune system.
Cold therapy
Done in the right way, exposure to the cold sets a number of benefits in motion: a build-up of brown adipose tissue resulting in fat loss; a reduction in inflammation, a fortified immune system; balanced hormone levels; improved sleep quality; and the production of endorphins— the feel-good chemicals in the brain that naturally elevate your mood.
Commitment
In order to work successfully, cold exposure and conscious breathing require patience, dedication and commitment. It’s a commitment that pays off, with increased energy, better sleep patterns, reduced stress, better focus, more willpower and a stronger immune system.
